The Scoop:
The red wines from Ribera del Duero are produced from Tinto Fino - local dialect for Tempranillo. They are deep colored and firm flavored with an excellent expression of terroir.
Why We Like It:
Tinto Fino from Ribera del Duero can show the same elegance and style as Pinot Noir from the famed Chambolle Musigny district in Burgundy. The Vina Mayor packs a lot of mature flavor in the bottle at a very reasonable price.
Tasting Notes:
The color is a soft garnet that shows signs of
maturity. Aromas of cedar smoke, dried cherries,
stewed tomatoes, herbs, and wet clay are all
excellent expressions of the terrior. On the palate the wine is unassuming and subtle with soft red fruit and small doses of spice that lead to a long, velvety finish. Drink now.
