The Scoop:
2005 is the first vintage of this wine. It is produced from Godello grapes grown 40 year old vines. Winemaker Rafael Palacios is the brother of the renowned winemaker Alvaro Palacios.
Why We Like It:
This mature Godello shows all beautiful and bright characteristics of Spain’s noble white grape. The wine press agrees too. Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate awarded 89 points to the 2005
vintage.
Tasting Notes:
Light gold in color, the wine offers aromatics of
mineral, tropical melon, and citrus. The palate is smoothly textured with excellent depth and
intensity. Tremendously well balanced with a long, pure finish, the 2005 Louro Do Bolo pairs well with pasta and light cream sauces,
Mediterranean fare and shell fish. Drink now.
