We immediately gave the Witness Tree an “SG” award. Depth and complexity with rich fruit and broad tannins. Absolutely gorgeous bottle of Pinot Noir. It had me at the nose.

Wine Spectator

Dense and focused, with a distinct minerality to the cherry and cassis flavors, which keep dancing lightly through the refined, harmonious finish. Needs time to soften the edges. Best from 2013 through 2020. 3,189 cases made.

Score: 91. —Harvey Steiman, December 31, 2010.

Wine Advocate

The 2008 Pinot Noir Estate Willamette Valley offers up a fragrant perfume of earth notes/underbrush, spice box, incense, mineral, and red fruits. On the palate it is smooth-textured, intense, and concentrated with excellent volume. This lengthy effort can be approached now but will drink well for another 6-8 years.

Score: 90. —Jay Miller, October 2010.
