Stoller

Aromas of ripe red raspberries, Bing cherries, floral notes of lilac and violets, barrel spices of cinnamon and clove, and herb de Provence (lavender and green herbal tones/tea leaf). The palate features bramble berry flavors, bright acidity and medium tannins with a real purity of red fruit flavors.

Wine Enthusiast

Young and spicy, with deeply-etched cranberry fruit flavors, limned with leafy herbal tannins. The core of fruit is pretty as can be, and the nicely-managed tannins wrap it in a perfect frame, while giving it added muscle. Another two or three years in the bottle will really bring this into focus.

Score: 90. —Paul Gregutt, March 01, 2011.

Wine Advocate

The 2008 Pinot Noir JV Estate (JV for “junior vines”, the younger vines on the estate) is medium ruby-colored with a bouquet of spicy red fruits. On the palate it is medium-bodied with layers of savory red fruit, enough ripe tannin to evolve for 2-3 years, and excellent length. Its friendly price makes it an outstanding value in Pinot Noir.

Score: 90. —Jay Miller, October 2010.
