Jezebel wines are produced by Daedalus Cellars with the intent of providing wine that is well-balanced, interesting and designed for immediate drinking.
The 2007 Pinot Noir is a blend of wine from several Oregon vineyards. The fruit was cropped around two to three tons per acre, fermented in small lots, and blended to produce a wine that is fruit-forward, well-balanced and surprisingly complex.
This particular vintage produced a Pinot Noir that is classically elegant in style with the structure and elegance to make it an excellent food wine. Look for tart cherry fruit, spice box, and black tea leaf aromas. The palate is extremely elegant and silky with soft, subtle fruit and the funkiest hint of roasted coffee and spice on the finish. The wine should pair well with salmon, chicken and mushrooms. It should be enjoyable upon release, but it may also cellar well for five to six years. This is one heck of a value from Oregon!

Wine Enthusiast

In the $20 Pinot category, wines to love are few and far between. This is one of them. A beautiful nose opens with just the right mix of spice, leaf and roasted coffee. Substantially more concentrated than it has any right to be, the wine grips the palate with authority and hangs ten, letting you surf it into a broad, smoky, delightful finish.

Score: 90. —Paul Gregutt, June 30, 2009.
