Gaston Chiquet

Golden yellow appearance, very fine mousse. Delicate nose: ripe fruit, pear, touch of oxidation. Smooth palate (Meunier), fresh and balanced, aromatic finish. Highlights the tertiary flavors of the best non-vintage Champagnes.

International Wine Cellar

Light yellow. Ripe pear and yellow apple on the nose, with gentle mineral and floral qualities lending vibrancy. Fleshy but dry, with sharply focused orchard and pit fruit flavors and slow-building dusty minerals adding grip to the finish. This boasts sneaky power and excellent persistence.

Score: 91. —Stephen Tanzer, December 2007.

Wine Advocate

The NV Brut Premier Cru Cuvee de Reserve shows a touch more richness and weight than the Tradition. Warm, slightly oxidative notes add complexity and depth to the fruit, while the finish reflects those qualities in its harmonious, creamy personality. The Cuvee de Reserve is 33% Chardonnay, 33% Pinot Meunier and 33% Pinot Noir, mostly 2004 vintage, with some 2005. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation and dosage was 8 grams per liter. Disgorged: October 20, 2008. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2013.

Score: 91. —Antonio Galloni, December 2010.

Wine Spectator

Hints of coconut and vanilla run through the white peach, clementine, pastry and smoke flavors in this subtle Champagne. There's a firm backbone of acidity, but it's nicely fleshed out by the ripe fruit flavor profile, followed by a juicy finish.

Score: 90. —Alison Napjus, December 31, 2010.
