Dashe Cellars

Color: Black-purple, with reddish hues Aromas: Black raspberry, black cherry, cassis, mineral, chocolate, black pepper, anise Taste: Black cherry, black raspberry, chocolate, licorice, clove spice, good acidity, wonderful viscous velvety texture on the mid-palate, complex, long sweet finish of black cherry fruit, and peppery spice.

Wine Advocate

The 2009 Zinfandel Dry Creek has an attractive wild strawberry and black cherry nose with a hint of roasted herbs. There is tangy acidity and almost Provencal garrigue notes, good pepper and spice. It is a medium-bodied, attractive wine, with elegance and character that should be drunk over the next 3-4 years.

Score: 88. —Robert Parker, February 2011.

Wine Enthusiast

With a little Petite Sirah and Carignane blended in for depth and complexity, this is a nice Zinfandel for everyday drinking. It’s dry and full-bodied, and while the tannins are strong, they're perfect for busting up rich barbecue. Shows all the fruity spiciness you expect from a lusty Zin.

Score: 87. —Steve Heimoff, October 01, 2011.
