Clos du Mont-Olivet
The flagship wine is composed predominately of Grenache (around 80%), with Syrah, Mouvèdre and Cinsault rounding out the blend. The wines are fermented in concrete vats and aged in large foudres (no new oak is used at this no-nonsense domaine). The grapes are not de-stemmed and the wines are neither fined nor filtered. The vines at this estate average over 60 years of age.
Wine Spectator
This red has a good sappy intensity, delivering flavors of kirsch and blackberry preserves that course along, followed by notes of graphite and iron that take over on the finish. Approachable now, but has the cut to cellar short term. Drink now through 2019. 4,000 cases made.

International Wine Cellar
Ruby-red. Musky black raspberry and Indian spices on the nose, with complicating notes of lavender, violet and licorice. Compellingly sweet and velvety on entry, then vibrant and delineated in the mid-palate, with an appealing floral quality complementing the flavors of crushed red berries and cherry. Pungent minerality adds energy to a long, spicy finish.

Wine Advocate
Made from 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah, Mourvedre, Cinsault, Counoise and Vaccarese (aged completely in old wood foudres), the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Tradition displays classic, textbook Chateauneuf du Pape aromas of kirsch liqueur, roasted Provencal herbs/garrigue, cedar and loamy soil intermixed with a hint of lavender. Full-bodied and lavishly fruited with moderately sweet tannin and abundant glycerin, this heady, upfront, complex, evolved 2009 can be enjoyed over the next 10-12 years.

Biodynamic designation is regulated by Demeter, an international certification organization. Biodynamic agriculture is based on the view of a farm as a self-contained organism. Certified organic vineyards must meet Demeter"s additional criteria for a period of one year before earning the designation "biodynamic."
Sustainably Grown
Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

Wines that are still in the barrel and have yet to be bottled. Futures offer the opportunity to invest in a wine before it arrives in our store.

Parker, Jr. Initially titled The Baltimore-Washington Wine Advocate the first issue was published in 1978. Accepting no advertising, the newsletter publishes in excess of 7,500 reviews per year, utilizing Parker's rating system that employs a 50-100 point quality scale.

Wine Spectator is a lifestyle magazine that focuses on wine and wine culture. It publishes 15 issues per year with content that includes news, articles, profiles, and general entertainment pieces.
