The Castell’in Villa Santacroce is a thorough complex wine combining both the old and new styles of contemporary wine making. Wine Advocate The 1997 Santacroce, half Sangiovese and half Cabernet, offers classic and very pure aromas of cassis, pencil shavings, and liquorice. Deep, solid, and concentrated, its tannins will also require some patience, though the sweetness of the fruit and the density of the texture are quite promising. Drink: 2006-2018.
