Nicolas Potel has a knack for finding parcels of fruit that are seemingly unattainable to others in Burgundy. Perhaps it’s his charming style or his “cool guy” status. Or, perhaps, vineyard owners are anxious to the kind of wines that can be produced with their fruit when in the hands of a proven cellar master. Potel has a storied and somewhat rocky history in Burgundy but what remains is his reputation and an excellent cellar master, capable of producing elegant and stylish wines even in the toughest of vintages.

We’re not 100% sure but the 2010, much like the 2009, seems to have been made from grapes grown in Saint Romain and a touch of Macon.

The wine has soft aromatics of baked apple with a touch of mascarpone and honey. The palate is light bodied with a floral, mineral tone and finishes with a slight creaminess that lends a certain roundness to the wine.
