We’ll loosen the tie but keep our shirts tucked. The Bell Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc wins the award for best value in the Sauvignon Blanc category. We were taken aback when Sandra Hewitt-Bell told us we could offer this wine for $18 per bottle. But to be able to offer the Bell Vineyards SB for just $15 is almost ludicrous. Bell Wine Cellars is committed to handcrafting limited edition bottlings of extraordinary wines that reflect the terroir of their vineyards and the care and passion of their growers The wine is 100% Sauvignon Blanc from Lake County California and is produced by winemaker Anthony Bell. Some may recognize Mr. Bell as he was the winemaker responsible for the great vintages of BV Georges de Latour. Here you’ll find a bright, crisp Sauvignon Blanc with wonderful citrus fruit and mineral aromas. There’s a subtle hint of fresh cut grass and maybe just a touch of mango as well. The palate has bright, palate cleansing acidity that keeps the fruit in balance and adds a lively edge to the mid-palate. An extraordinary finish that is bright, crisp and cleansing. The Bell SB is a great match with shellfish, grilled salmon, BBQ chicken, and mild pasta dishes. It’s also great as an aperitif.
