Like the Gruner Veltliner, the Zweigelt hails from Carnuntum, Austria. The wine is produced from 100% Zweigelt which many compare to Pinot Noir. Aromas are reminiscent of Grand Cru Gamay. Fatty smoked meat and fresh cranberry aromas. Hints of crushed herbs and smoke. Medium bodied on the palate, round and balanced with silky finish. Drink now on it’s own or with soft cheeses, charcuterie or roasts.
