This 2000 Abbotts Vineyard Chardonnay has classic Carneros Chardonnay flavors of lemon and orange zest, ripe pears, hints of spearmint and rich crème brûlée undertones. A rich and viscous entry leads the palate into well-integrated layers of tropical fruit flavors and smoky oak notes. Typical of most Chardonnays from the cool Carneros region, there is good acidity to this wine that lures the palate away from the weight, leaving the finish with a delightful and surprising citrus and roasted nutmeg character.
