When such a wine becomes available it is sure to be a leader in its field. Warre's principal objective is to produce a vintage Port that continues the same superb reputation created by the great Warre's vintages of previous generations. Wines of this quality are made using the traditional treading techniques that have not changed in 2000 years, producing wines with intense colour and flavour. Selected from a number of top quality vineyards, including Warre's own Quinta da Cavadinha, the company's Vintage Port is aged in wooden cask for 18 months before being bottled unfiltered using a normal driven cork. Warre Vintage Port is produced for long aging in the bottle and therefore should always be stored lying down and decanted prior to serving.
The Wine Advocate
Straightforward yet intense, ripe black raspberry liqueur and cassis scents are followed by a medium to full-bodied, elegant, restrained, balanced port with moderately high tannin as well as outstanding purity. It is a vintage port with impeccable finesse. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2020.
Score: 91.

The Wine Spectator
Lovely floral aromas of berries, violets and minerals. Full-bodied, with firm tannins and a racy finish. A harmonious yet well-toned Warre. Reminds me of the 1991. Best after 2010. 9,000 cases made.
Score: 91.
